Maybe old news? Last week I came across a GAS Co. employee (in GAS Co. truck) at the top of the canyon (Sully ridge / Sully Cyn). He was waiting for two biologist to come back up from the canyon. I’d seen and spoken with biologist in the canyon a few times in the past month or so. Anyway, the GAS Co. guy was very pleasant. He let me know that work in the canyon, the bottom half, what they didn’t re-grade after the winter, was scheduled to begin the first week in August. Canyon closed, security guards and all the rest while the work is going on.

Is the entrance to the fireroad from Camp Josepho also closed?
If you are talking about Sullivan Ridge, the fire road above and to the west of Sullivan Canyon, then no, it is open - Sullivan Ridge. Sullivan Ridge is the ride that starts at Capri / Amalfi and climbs that crumbling pavement, turning to dirt where the entrance to Camp Josepho drops down to the NW.

Hope that helps!
