Ok rather than post my entire bikes specs Im just gonna post the pool of cheaper parts I know I would like drop weight on, in the XT price range.

1. Deore Shifters-270gr claimed
2. Deore Front Derailleur- 171gr claimed.
XT M771 is 155gr, and $40 but only 16gr lighter? I dont think I could feel that.
3. Cane Creek Aheadset- Similar models are up to 141gr.
4. Truvativ FireX Cranks- $100 jobbies, 940gr w/BB claimed
5. Generic Seat- Weight unknown but its got to be over 200gr.

So weight weenies, upon reading what sends the most shivers up your spine?
You can also suggest a suitable replacement for each item that wont break the bank.
Thanks!

Cranks, saddle, wheels and tires (oh yeah, they weren't listed, but still the place that will give you results you can really feel!).

My cranks and saddle are listed so I guess thats your vote. Its hard cause cranks are expensive for about 100gr weight drop. The Race face deus for example is 830gr.
What Deore part number is is (m-510...etc)? It may not even be worth looking at the FD because it may be a lot lower than claimed. Mine is pretty light, I have done no tuning, this is an OEM part from my Cannondale Rush.

Sorry for the cell phone pic.

Of course you can't feel 16 grams. You probably can't even feel a pound of weight loss.
The thing is all the little things add up. The only way to get a light bike is to shave grams on every part.
I'd ride your bike the way it is and when something breaks replace it with something better/lighter.
