Sturmney Archer Hubs and Wheels

My bike was -TWO- Wheels!

I got a 3 speed rear hub and rear wheel. The wheel says that it is a 26" but I put it next to all my other 26" wheels and it is significantly bigger. No where near 26"

Why are they different?
