I've never gotten a straight answer for this. One of you roadie/mtb wheel gods could clear this up.

Whats the real size difference between 650 and 26 inch wheels? For example say I have a 650 rim, could I put a 26 inch tire on it? Ignoring the width issue. And on the on the other side could I put a 650 road slick on a mt bike rim?

Thanks

No, don't think so.

A 650C rim has an ISO bead diameter of 571 mm. A 26-inch mtb rim has a bead diameter of 559 mm. That's a difference of 12 mm, nearly a half inch. So, I'd say the answer is no.
