Ok, Ive had a sticky/creaking main pivot since I bought the bike last year. I brought it in a few times to different stores, all they did was tighten and lube.
Finally I got them to disassemble it and may have found the problem, but I would like some info from those of you who have done a pivot bearing replacement. It seems the rear triangle and frame are rubbing. The left is actually worse than the right which is in the below pic.
There is the bearing on the outside of frame, and a spacer toward the inside. However there is 3-4 mm of extra space that, according to the shop mech, shouldnt be there.
Should the bearing be pressed in farther to make the spacer be flush with the inside?
