I'm looking at the Stumpjumper Expert 29er . My current bike has '01 XTR on it and Avid mechanic brakes so I am not terribly familiar with alot of the newer stuff.

Are there any glaring issues with the components spec'd on this bike? I will race the bike at the Shenandoah 100 and maybe a few local races, but mostly use it for non-racing riding.

I JUST bought one myself and LOVE it!! Everything works well although I will say that I replaced the wheels with Mavic Crossmax 29er's and I am seriously considering upgrading the brakes. I should also state that I am much fussier about brakes than anyone I know - maybe it comes from racing motorcycles etc, I dont know. The Avid's are in my opinion too loud and they start to fade VERY quickly when they get hot. I can do a steep 1/4 mile DH and the brakes will almost not be working at the bottom. I am a big dude too though so that makes a difference for sure.

BTW - the bike is absolutely awesome!! I love riding it and it climbs incredibly well - even for me who sucks at climbing. It feels like a race bike when you get it set up and rides great - you will love it!
