Looks like I've secured a new StEvo carbon frameset in S5. I'm 190cm tall.
I have got some parts for the build already, but I need some advice. I'll be looking at a semi-budget build (bloody expensive frame), rigged towards Enduro racing/AM. Grown-up, enthusiast level. Pedal friendly.
Will be running my old Roval Traverse SL 29 boost wheels, XD driver.

Cranks:
Already have new GX Eagle lunar mech, shifter, cassette.
I've no idea on which BB standard or axle dia I need. Thinking GX something with a 30 or 32t ring.

Fork:
Prefer RS for ease of service and probably in the Select-range. Either Lyrik or Zeb. There's a pretty big weight penalty going Zeb. Will be wanting 160mm 44mm offset.

Dropper:
Thinking a BikeYoke Revive 34.9, 185mm. With the StEvo frame having a short seat tube, I hope this will be ok as 200+ seem hard to find right now, and might be too much anyhow. I'm sitting at 82cm ish on my old Stumpy. Really happy with the BikeYoke Divine I've run for a couple years.

Not really sure what the frameset comes with. It's an S-works frame, and no tech details on the Spesh site. Expect I need BB, headset etc as well.

Thanks for any input!

I got mine as a complete bike however, headset is integrated so you do not need to buy one. Frame set I believe comes with headset and rear shock. Crank is Boost with a 148mm boost rear end. 32t I believe is the largest that will fit. BB is ENG threaded. Standard fork is 160mm travel. Your other picks seem fine. Look at the complete bike spec for ideas. Also available on line is the bikes manual with will have frame specs.

If you want to step up the crank game a bit (and save some weight), Praxis Girder Carbon is a great crank. Light, 3 bolt SRAM interface so you can use all sorts of diferent rings/spiders (like OneUp Cinch), and not too expensive. 165mm option as well.

Lyric fork for sure, ZEB is awesome but Lyrik is fine for that frame. I am running Lyrik @170 on a EVO and it is a ripper! Adjustable geo is perfect for this.

OneUp 210mm 34.9 droppers are easy to find and around $200. If you can't get the full 210mm, it can be shimmed down to 190 or 200.

Frame comes with a full headset.

Seems the Zeb R was the only available option for now, so going with that. Also getting a OneUp 210, but 210 only available in 30.9 (I already have a shim). Considering the 180 which is available in 34.9. Probably smart to go with the 34.9, as stiff as possible with such a long post.

Shopping domestically to avoid annoying taxes.

Bummer on the OneUP, they have lots of 34.9 210's available here. Be careful with shims and carbon frames and long droppers, bad things can happen. That 100mm of support in the ST isn't that great for big extension.

2020 Enduros shipped with shimmed droppers, and had quite a few cracked seat tubes (some folks broke multiple frames), all around the 100mm mark.

I’d try to bump up to the zeb select if possible, the R doesn’t even have compression adjust

I have the '22 STEVO Pro in the S4 and the Bikeyoke 185 34.9 is awesome, even smoother than my 30.9 Bikeyoke Divine that has been flawless on my SB100 for 2 years.

Go 30t ring unless you don't climb steep stuff or are Geoff Kabush strong. This bike climbs tech like nothing I've ever ridden.

165 or 170 mm cranks given low BB.

I'm a newbie on forks like the Lyrik and Fox 36 -- but the 22 '36 Grip 2 factory feels pretty darn nice to me.

More scarce avilability :) The crank I'm waiting for comes with a 32t. That's an easy swap later on, although it might be fine. My current gnarbike runs GX11 with a 30t ring, so kinda the same. As for the crank arms, 175mm was my only option. If this proves a disaster, I'll need to swap. On the other hand, I run 175 on all my other bikes, so thats what my legs are used to. Ran 170 on my '19 Stumpy, and honestly that felt a bit strange. I'm 6.3'' on an S5. Will just have to suck it and see. Pedal strikes will happen, but I'm used to that as well.

C19 and parts sucks. I've been waiting for a StEvo Comp for the better part of a year only to be told a few days ago that I'd have to wait until '23. So when my LBS texted me about this one S5 frameset coming to the country, I jumped at it.

I have a spare 185 34.9 revive I was going to list soon. Only 2 rides on it from new, I switched to the 213 revive 34.9 as soon as it was available.

pike would be a decent option too at 160mm. Save some weight. I have a mezzer pro on my sj Evo and like it better than any of the rs offerings in many ways.

if you want to save some money sometimes there are good deals on gxp cranks if you can find any. sram blew those out cheap a couple years ago when they started pushing dub.

So, the budget blew up again. We found a RS Lyrik Ultimate available. It's red, and 42mm offset, but I'm going for it rather than the Zeb R. Red is a bit bling, but..
I'm not sure how much the 2mm of offset change will be noticeable, if at all.

That is a great fork for this bike, I have the same running it at 170mm.

Much better than the ZEB R damper. I pulled one apart yesterday, that is the most pathetic damper I have see in along time. Virtually zero compression damping. It belongs on a $300 fork, has no place on a chassis such as the ZEB...(n)

I would recommend installing an older B1 style air spring, or Vorsprung Luftkappe on the Lyric if it has a C1 air spring.
The C1 air spring is not very supple nor does it have adequate mid stroke support (due to the reduced negative volume from previous version). The only reason it "rides tall" is because they lengthened the foot nut.
You can tell it's a C1 spring because the foot nut is red and it has a larger red spacer.

Update: bike all built, and ready for shakedown if the weather permits. Need to sort riding position so I can shorten brake hoses and steerer tube.

Cable routing was superb. Only faff was getting the housing for the dropper to go up the seat tube.

Hit one snag: how to size the chain. Followed the official instructions from SRAM (wrap chain around chainring and biggest cog, add 2 links), and ended up with a way too short chain. Thankfully, I had a backup.

Ok, at first glance the bike looks incredible, but then I thought, wow, what a wonderfully tidy and calm living space for such a shredder. Then I looked closer at that painting behind the bike and WTF is that?? Do I even want to understand/see what is hanging above the poodle-ish dog on the washboard getting a bath from the cigarette smoking lady?

Hehe, well...the rest of the pups are hung up to dry on a line. They look kinda...put out and grumpy :D
Can't remember why we got that picture many winters ago, still like it, though. Our dog has been excellent at showering since day one - maybe she saw the picture and figured the shower was an ok option?
