Hello from Montreal Qc,

I'll be in California (Van Nuys) for a buisness trip, first week-end of march 2009,
Would like to fit a ride in the scedule,
Strawberry peak seems a good option, but will there be snow ??
Then should I change my plans and go further in the mountain for spring skiing ?

Anny recomandation for a bike shop where I could rent a descent XC bike.

Will there be snow? We have the most inconsistant weather on the planet here in So Cal. There is snow up there right now, but there is no way of knowing what the conditions will be like in March.

If there is snow, going further up the mountain would only be an option if it had just snowed a few days prior because it usually doesn't last around here for very long.

We typically do not have snow on Strawberry Peak in the month of March. Also, there is usually no skiing in the local mountains during this time.

For bike rental try Bicycle John's at http://www.bicyclejohns.com/demo.htm or other reputable bike shops.

Last year there was snow in March, but it was still pretty fun...
