Current stem on a large 09 Enduro SL is 90mm - spec says it should have been 80mm. Anyhow, it feels too stretched out, yet I don't have any shorter lengths to try, so I'm buying without trying. I'm 5'10" if that matters, and I ride a rough all mountain mix.

I'm thinking 70 or 75mm. Is that reasonable, or is that getting too short? What are folks riding on these bikes?

I am also 5'10" and think my medium is the perfect size. I ran the standard 80mm stem until I got a DH bike with a 50mm and liked that so much I bought the spec 60mm. I found it a nice improvement and would never go back to the longer stem.

I'm 6'1 and ride a large with a 36mm Fox Talas 160. For my lighter XC type riding a use a 90mm, for the knarly terrain I switch over to a 60mm. Huge difference in the downhill and slow technical stuff. If you are going to make a change go at least 20mm :thumbsup:
