Hiya Everyone I was just wondering if anyone can tell me whats the next size up from 1 1/8" on the steerertube ?

1.5. At one time, I think we also had 1 1/4, which might have been the Klein Air Headset standard, though I'm not sure. Earlier cannondales were actually not 1.5, but with the move to standardization, they altered their preexisting dimensions to 1.5.

So in one sense, if you're talking industry-wide standardization, the next step is 1.5, though some companies have proprietary in betweens, which seem far and few now.

Tapered steerers are also becoming a trend with some makes. They go from 1.5 at the crown to 1-1/8 at the top bearing.

1 1/4 was common in the early to mid 90's. Gary Fisher and Manitou frames instantly come to mind that used this...though there were several others as well
