i was cleaning my bike today and i noticed that the paint chipped on my profile cranks and the place where it chiped is startin to rust. i was thinking wrap some sealing tape around it so more water wont get it?

hit it with a steel brush to clean it up then touch up with black spray paint. moisture will find its way past the tape and probably do more harm than good.

Yeah, you definitely need to get rid of ALL the rust before you cover with primer or paint, otherwise it will keep growing.

chances are you will sell your bike before the rust does some fatal damage
