I have been running stans for a few months now with the kevlar, FOLDABLE Hutchinson mosquitos.

Apparantely you are not supposed to really use stans with non kevlar tires. Does this mean that tires with kevlar side walls and NON foldable are useable (eg the slightly cheaper Hutchinsons that are kevlar walls but have the wire strip to mount them on the rim)

What luck and tires have people used succesfully?

Thanks

My opinion only....

I know you asked for those that have "used" something different; but I wanted to reply anyway.

You should be able to use 'wire beads' fine. Stans' only problem that I've seen is when you get a tire that doesn't have a "strong" kevlar bead around it; which in turn will cause it to blow off the rim. A wire bead is much stronger, so in theory, this should work fine, if not even better.(?)

I'm sure you've done this, but I'd call Stan himself. If you never have, he's full of information and will talk your leg off. He will however, ask "why" you would want to do this, as the wire beaded are heavier.

Again, my opinion, so I apologize up front.
