Glitter has been used for this.
Or patch it on the inside.Stick a tire plug in the hole?
Glitter. Works well and doesn't react with the sealant.Hey guys... here's my crazy idea.
I've had 2 "big" puntures where the Stans sealant wont work at all... seems like its too thin, so it sprays like crazy but wont stop the leak.
I was wondering, what if I add a bit of fine sand to the sealant? wont those sand particles help with the bigger holes in the tire?
Or have you guys managed to add something to improve performance?
thanx a lot
Good tip. Is corn starch listed as an ingredient, or do you have some inside info?Corn starch works great to thicken liquid. They use it in the Stan's Pro Race formula. 👌
Awesome. Sounds like a great idea. Thanx a lot! I will try that, and add some glitter as suggested aswell!!Corn starch works great to thicken liquid. They use it in the Stan's Pro Race formula. 👌
Sarcasm and fun ridicule are the norm here. It gives the place character. Don’t take it personally.I dont know why people are so close-minded and make fun of adding sand. You people certanly are the ones that are guided 100% by the industry marketing, and swallow all the ideas without even asking why.
Adding half a pund of sand (as suggested before) is not what i meant... even thinking about it is more stupid than the idea itself.... how about adding about 5% of the sealants weight?
Pre-COVID I was drinking beer with a Tech Rep from Stans at Interbike...when meeting in person to talk bikes was still a thing. He gave me some 411.Good tip. Is corn starch listed as an ingredient, or do you have some inside info?
Instead of sand try half a pound of lead shot.Awesome. Sounds like a great idea. Thanx a lot! I will try that, and add some glitter as suggested aswell!!

Im thinking now about adding plastic particles. That should clog the bigger holes, and shouldnt absorb nor react with the sealant.
thanx a lot for those who really answered, and not to the ones trying to make fun
