Stans OLD Crest ZTR and Fox 32 Stepcast issues

396 Views 7 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  StumpyElite2010
Got a 32 Non-boost Fox Factory Stepcast fork ( 15x100)
When tightening the Thru-axle the, Stan's Crest wheel won't spin or spin with lots of resistance.
I tried same wheel with an older 32 non-boost non Step-cast Fox and it works fine.
I tried also an Enve with DT 240 hub on the Stepcast fork and it also works fine.

So, my conclusion is that the Crest/step-cast combo does not work together.
Crest hub is 3.3. HD with Stan's end caps for 15 mm.

Any ideas how to resolve this issue ?

Does it spin freely until it's snugged up?
Does it slide nicely into the dropout guides?
I'm betting you have an end cap compatibility issue. Different end cap?

Yes and Yes

That is my conclusion as well. Problem is that I have the end caps from Stan's and I dont see that they have another option for that specific hub 3.30HD
Stans 15 mm End caps for 3.30 HD
The Stan's 3.30HD hub is touching the fork leg, while the DT swiss on is not
Nothing that canbe done other than getting another front wheel.

^^^ Looks like a boost hub in a non-boost fork

It's an old Crest Wheel - circa 2011...
The going standard was QR, not even a through-bolt.... LOL
