Has anyone tried putting the Stan's No Tube 29er Set on Salsa Semi Rims? The set says they work only on the Salsa Delgado's, which is 27.5 mm wide. The Semi Rims are 30 mm wide.

Will there be leakage problems?

Edit: Correction, 22.5 mm rims. So there is 7.5 mm of rim width not covered by the tape. Will this be a problem with the tubeless system?

Yes there will be problems....

the rim tape MUST reach from bead to bead. This serves two purposes, it ensures a good seal between the spoke bed of the rim and the bottom of the tire bead, and it tightens up the distance between the bead hook and the spoke bed of the rim to make for a more secure bead seat. It doesn't take much thickness to accomplish this, but it is necessary. The primary problem is usually air leakage, but it can also make the set up more likely to burp as well. A wider rim simply requires wider tape, or a wider rubber strip.
