Head-butt helps Mark Cavendish win 11th stage of Tour. Wow didn't see that move coming. I had to watch it 3 times but it was entertaining.

agree. Dean's drifting his line. what's the guy supposed to do @ 65kph take his hands off and wave Dean over? bad ref call on the dq. Guess Cav will be hitching on lead outs til Paris now.

It has no business in cycling. Elbow? Give me a break; it was nothing. Pros are expected to manage high effort, frustration and other stresses with some measure. The head-butt was beyond the pale.

i know it's not keirin but a yellow card was all you needed on that play.

Both were at fault fighting for position. Fines would have addressed both riders and the issue.

Renshaw got declassified for the head-butting. He was thrown out for cutting off Farrar and nearly forcing him into the barriers.

Elbows get thrown in every sprint. Fines don't get levied for that. Guys lean on each other in every sprint. Fines don't get levied for that, either. The headbutting was beyond that, and declassifying the guy was a fine decision for Renshaw, but doesn't address that Cavendish profited from the misbehavior of a teammate. Same with cutting off and impeding Farrar. Sure, it punishes Renshaw, but the Columbia team gained an advantage from that. I think Cavendish should be declassified, too.
