SSC P7 arrived but forgot to order batteries and charger

After 3 weeks I have a MTE SSC P7-C 1 mode just arrived but forgot to also order batteries or a charger from Kaidomain :madman:. It was my first order, so i just ordered one item, to see if i got anything at all.

I like to get up running quick. Where can i get batteries and a charger for 18650 here in UK?

The voltage is 3.7V~4.2V. Can i use CR123a instead? How much would that overvolt them and would it be too high overvolt?

Thanks

LOL,

You have to pay more, but this caving site should have them with you ASAP.

I just blew up my DX light yesterday. (MTE SSC P7-C, sku225690) I tried putting two cr123a batteries in when my 18650 died. I don't know what broke, but it won't turn on anymore. However, when it was working it was really good. I am going to order another one, but am not looking forward to the long wait.

Sadly, I'm just now reading your post. Had I seen this four days ago I would have warned you NOT to use the cr123a's. You cannot double the voltage and expect something good to happen. If the torch is direct drive the led is probably toast. If there is a driver in the circuit perhaps the LED was saved but the driver is probably toast ( * IF the driver was only rated for 4.2volts ). Now if you had been lucky and the driver was rated at 8.4volts you still would of only gotten about 16 minutes of run time out of those small ( 800mah ) cr123a's.

***P.S. If you're going to order a new one make sure you do it BEFORE the Chinese New Year or there is going to be at least another two week delay.
Yeah, I should have checked before just dropping them in. Mine was only rated for 5V (sku22569), so maybe I can order a new driver board too.

I'm currently deciding between sku19767 and sku18694 in case I can't fix my broken one. Any recommendation? I plan on placing the order tomorrow afternoon PST (before everyone's new year celebration)

As far as P-7 torches go: I had my sister buy me another P-7 torch for Christmas. This time it was a 5-mode version of an MTE torch I already had. I am very pleased with this torch. I'll be writing a review of it in just a minute. ( it is over in the DIY section ) This is the one I got > http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12060
