Looking to purchase a X9 w/ med. cage for AM use running 2x9. Weight is not important.

Is the '07 X-9 beefier as promised?

Basically the same as the x.0 without the fancy carbon bits. Very tough piece of equipment.

Do you know if the '07 X-9 is improved over the X-9 '06 model?

It's improved significantly. It's a stiffer spring and the knuckle is the same as the X.0 now. It's forged and significantly stronger.
