My 2018 fuel ex 9.7 came with a 32T front and a 11-42 rear. I need a little lower gear so I think I’m going to try a 30T front.

I was about ready to order one from amazon when I noticed at least three different offsets; 0, 3, and 6. 3 says (boost) so I’m assuming that’s what I need, am I correct? Of course it’s way more expensive than the others. What would the 0 be good for?

I don't know the answer aside from..... is there a marking on your current chain ring with the offset identified? There is an engraved marking on my bike.

Actually once I started looking really close at the backside of the ring it is marked 3mm boost offset.

I went ahead and ordered a 28T off eBay. It should help me on the climbs.
