It looks as if the differences between the two items is that the XG-1299 (XX1) cassette is gold, about 25g lighter, and about $50 more expensive than the XG-1295 (XO1) cassette.

Are there any other benefits to the higher end cassette?

I use X01. XX1 is supposed to last longer, with some coating I think. I can’t be sure, but the X01 already costs an arm and I don’t want to pay the leg for the XX1.

Oh yeah? I got the differing weights off of REI.com but I saw on another site both listed at 300g.

I was always under the impression they’re exactly the same, minus the color of the coating. Lots of folks, myself included, run blacked out XX1 with the X01 cassette.

I know for 11spd X01, it weighed exactly the same as the XX1. This is my X01:

They’re identical, with the exception of the gold Ti-nitride coating on XX1. The coating actually adds 6g to the XX1 according to SRAM. Whether or not the plating actually adds durability, or is just hype is a tough one to get to the bottom of.

I had both iin my hands and on my scale 2 days ago. XO1 is 5 grams lighter.

That 50t cog is going to wear out first anyways, not sure that the gold coating is going to extend the life of the cassette considering I can't find a replacement 50t cog anywhere. I'm surprised the aftermarket isn't making them, but if anyone knows of one please post a link!
