Just wondering if anyone out there has been running other brake pads than stock. I started off running organics, blew through them quick. Put metals on now half way through there life and they are howling like crazy. At $24 a pop gets expensive to keep running organics. Has anyone had any luck running something else that’s quiet long lasting? The Metals lasted great. Just hate the howling coming downhill. Thanks

Amazon has aftermarket Code brake pads for $8.50 a set:

I have the Guide RE brakes that also use these pads. Haven't had to replace them yet but the stock metallics, if they irritate me by becoming noisy, will be replaced with these.

Just ordered a set of those. Don’t know why it says 2011-2015. The pads are the same 2011 to current

I run the metal SRAM Code pads and my brakes are silent unless they are wet or contaminated with something.

They have been great till recently on long descents. As soon as they get hot they start to howl. I’ve deglazed them cleaned them to no help.

Mine have been quiet so far as well, but I don't trust metal pads to ever be quiet. Since I cannot stand a noisy bike, I'm with you--cheap organics and keep replacing them. They're easy enough to throw in my little bike toolbox.
