Anyone know what the arrows on Sram brake clamps are there for? I'm guessing they're meant to be pointing upward but can't figure out what difference it would make since they look symmetrical to me! Mine are on the Level T brakes (can't wait to swap them out for some Zees!)

Can just about see them in the image above, it is this style of clamp though

You point them up and tighten the top bolt all the way before tightening the lower bolt. There's no gap at the top of the clamp and a gap only at the bottom. Very common on motos.

If you hold a straightedge against the flats of the clamp, you'll see they're not coplanar.
