Hi, has anyone had a ticking sound from their SRAM AXS GX Derailleur ?, i updated the firmware today and noticed the ticking noise that started when i knocked the shifter up by accident while not turning the drivetrain, i guess putting the dearilleur under a bit of lateral strain?, it ticks a few times gradually becoming quieter and weaker sounding, but the sound stopped when i shifted back down into the gear it was in, i found a video on reddit of the same'ish sound that i will link

I had a similar issue with mine last weekend. I went to shift and noticed that nothing was happening so I pulled off the trail and discovered that a screw holding one of the arms worked its way out, leading to a similar issue. The only way to get it to stop was by removing the battery and riding the rest of the way without the ability to shift which wasn't a big deal because it wasn't working anyway... just had to push the bike at times. Making things worse, I ended up clipping something, crashing, and the thing fell apart mid-trail. I just had to buy a new one from work the other day and was waiting for it to show up, only to just rediscover that OnTrac is the still worst shipping company on planet earth. Anyway, video and photo below:

In addition, I also found other problems. The damping force of the Axs series is far inferior to that of the Eagle series. Perhaps Sram has reduced the damping force in order to reduce the burden on the motor, increase the working time, and reduce the damping force. In the first few months, Gx Axs lost the protective cover and battery due to bumps when working 😅

I wondered about this... I used to be able to feel and hear the chain slap like crazy so I had to cut the chain way down to keep it as tight as possible. I also lost the protective cover twice on the same trail in the same exact spot haha. I still like the thing a lot, which is why I bought a new GX AXS derailleur to replace the one I broke and am going to try to send my original in to be refurbished as soon as I hear back from the warranty department at my local shop.

I noticed this the other day and have sent it back to SRAM. In addition to this but possibly unrelated, after travelling, on my return I had a problem where the drivetrain would only shift smoothly on half the cassette. Either low or high gears up until the mid point. Took several hours of micro adjustments to get it acceptable, but still not smooth. Tried new chain, new chain ring, new hanger, cassette was bought in June as was AXS. When first installed (new cassette, new chain, old oval chainring) it worked like it says on the tin. Since my trip never the same (I took the AXS off to travel).
I have a video of the clicking noise as well.

Hoping on warranty.

Got my new derailleur last week and it slaps like crazy! It's even worse than the one I am replacing. I also can't get it to shift correctly, regardless of adjustment. It seems like its trying to shift for a 13 speed by allowing an extra click and trying to go below the smallest cog. Weird.

Hi, i contacted sram about the clicking and they said its normal its just trying to shift but cant as bike/chain is stationary and it still shifts fine when riding, also when i fitted my derailleur it shifted from 1 to 12 just perfect even before i had set the limit screws, so there was not no extra click/going over or under the largest or smallest cog..
