I am wondering if how many times Sram updates it's components. As many know, Sram 2007 is very updated, and the x7 for 2006 is equal to x5 for 2007, x9 - x7, and so on.

Did they do this in 2005 as well?
Or are 2005-2006 SRAM components the same?

I am looking at a 2005 bike that comes with SRAM X-7 for $389.99

Updates

I'm pretty sure that up until the recent 2007 updates, the revious couple of years (let's say 2004-2006) are pretty much the same as I understand it. I could be wrong, and if so hopefully someone will come along and correct me. FWIW, I have a bike that had the 2005 X.7 and it's a fine derailleur.
