I’ve always had 1 or 2 backup GX 12sp rear derailleurs on hand, as all 4 my families bikes use them. Snapped a rear derailleur 3 weeks ago, put my last backup in …
And yea, impossible to buy anywhere as non-AXS 12 speed of any model.

Not happy, praying bad luck don’t strike in next 3-6 months.

There’s gotta be more than global supply chain excuse.
Is SRAM forcing AXS on users?
Did they mis-allocate resources on AXS, when their customer base truly not wanting them?
Yea, OE bike companies found out majority of buyers aren’t drinking the AXS koolaid and $$$’s added for it.
So they gobbled up allocation, leaving LBS and individual customers in a quandary?
My LBS has a few AXS complete sets on hand, offered them to me.
Ha, I want cable GX 12 speed.

At this point it's simply a situation of when shipments of certain supplies are showing up and clearing customs.

Last month, I had a hell of a time finding the X01 AXS upgrade kit that I ended up buying. Now it's pretty easy to find.

I’m in the auto business, all business have 30-60-90-120+ days forecasting tools and dial in their production facilities in step with their huge supply chain and it’s tier 1, tier 2 components.
It’s called lean manufacturing, we all do it. 20+ years now.

Sure, a shortage here and there, on a specific component.

But, a whole class of components?
That’s a huge f up, lost sales, lost revenue, customer loyalty , etc.

Also consider OEM demand. The majority of kits will be using Eagle, with AXS as an available upgrade, and I would guess the bike manufacturers get their orders filled ahead of the consumer market.

So , you recognize supply chain issues, yet … it’s still a conspiracy? Well-played, sir.
My earlier comment holds:

Zero inventory at multiple locations for a specific class of components , 5 different parts.
Eagle: XX1, X01, GX, NX, SX

Can’t even place a back order, why?

It's the same with Shimano. It's also a case of where these different parts are made. In Shimano's case, most entry-mid level parts are made in Malaysia, while XTR+ is made in Japan. Depending on when these countries last had a lockdown and for how long, that will change what is available and when. My guess is that SRAM just made more AXS than there was demand for, and now that's all that's still in stock because everyone bought 4 GX derailleurs when they were in stock?

Try finding a new (2022 model year) bike. I have buddy looking at bikes from Specialized, Trek and SantaCruz. All manufacturers are willing to take deposits to lock in price but none can guarantee exactly when in 2022 they'll have inventory to fulfill the order.

Try finding a new (2022 model year) bike. I have buddy looking at bikes from Specialized, Trek and SantaCruz. All manufacturers are willing to take deposits to lock in price but none can guarantee exactly when in 2022 they'll have inventory to fulfill the order.
Rocky Mountain was struggling to find enough Shimano components to put on their 2022 bikes, so for 2023 they'll have SRAM, which is probably why no spare parts are available online.

I work at a Honda/Kia/Mazda dealer. We have cars that have been waiting for parts for over 6 months. There is a Kia tech who's been waiting on a turbocharger for 5 months and was told an ETA of maybe end of December.

It's a shipping issue. Lack of truck drivers, ports being closed due to Covid. The west coast ports are all backed up. That's why the Port of LA is going to 24h/6days operation.

This affects EVERY category of consumer purchases.

Nope, it's a giant global conspiracy aimed at forcing us to buy AXS parts.

The cruel part, they don't want us to simply buy the parts, they want us to feel thankful that we were able to buy expensive AXS parts.

Think about it, it takes some of the sting away of spending $$$ on AXS when you even can't drive your car!
