Spring rate on a DHX 5.0

So I have a DHX 5.0 500x2.35 on my Transition Dirtbag.

Its just too soft for me, I feel as though I am bottoming out on anything over a foot drop.

Would a 600x2.5 spring be better, and do you think it would fit? there seems to be room for a longer spring in there.

BTW, im 170 lbs.

with springs, you can do longer spring on a shorter shock stroke. just not the other way around.

if it fits, and nothings rubs, try it out.
