This would have been a very bad day for both agoraphobes and claustrophobes. The approach, while spectacular, gives little indication of the treats to come.

Just as monumental up close.

Several other folks (Chuky and JMH quite recently) have treated us to trip pictures of this particular area. The desaturate command was calling to me for this set.

I walked with a sense of wonderment,

and curiosity,

I love that hike!
Did you do the loop or the out and back?
Did you check out Goblin Valley while you were there?
I did not take the time to do the entire loop, since I was heading for Goblin Valley afterward. It was so windy in the afternoon that I could barely get out of the car by the time I got to Goblin Valley . I look forward to returning someday soon.

We did a trip through that area a few years ago with the kids. They LOVED Goblin Valey, we did a lot of climbing and around the Goblins. It was a bit windy, but not as bad as when you went, I assume. The next day we rode our bikes from Goblin Valey down to Little Wild Horse, hiked down it for a couple of hours then rode back. I have a pic of my kids standing in the canyon right at the spot in picture number 6.

My kids were 8 and 10 at the time (I think), that was a VERY big day for them. It took a lot of psychology to get my daughter to pedal all the way back to the campground. Pics definitely took me back!

Unfortunately I don't have any pics on line from that era, I'll have to look around.
