Today a car ran into the back of my Sportworks racks. (lucky the Turner survived without any damage.) I will have to replace the main front section. I do have the 3rd and 4th bike add on piece and wanted to know if they will fit on the Thule T2 rack. The other driver's insurance should pay for the replacement rack but you know how that can go sometimes.

If I have to buy a whole new system would you go with the Thule, Yakima, or Saris since they all seem similar to the original Sportworks?

Not sure, so I'd call Thule directly - go right to the source: 1-800-238-2388

I've calle them with questions in the past and they've always been helpful.

Sucks about your rack. Glad the Turner is safe.

Funny, maybe it works the other way around then. A bud of mine has the Sportworks T2 rack, and went to get the add-on for it and was given a Thule unit. It fits fine that way (Thule add-on on a Sportworks rack), so I'm kind of surprised that it doesn't work the other way around.

I'm skeptical of Thule now

Thule always says No on the Sportworks/Thule compatibilty issue. Except for the straps/rachet mechanism for the rear wheel, the tubes and clamsp look identical with a few possible aesthetic differences. I wonder if they just want consumers to scrap the Sportworks stuff and buy the Thule stuff. When I scrap my Sportworks T2 if something that breaks cannot be replaced by the Thule counterpart, I'll buy some other brand.

I have the roof mount sportsworks rack, and bent the hell out of the tray about a year ago. I ordered the thule counterpart and it was way different. Bolt sizes are all different. tray channel size was different. It looks like they bought the rights to sportsworks racks, then tweaked it to thule standard stuff.. So in my case they were different.
