Hello all! First time I’ve ever Bought a new bike. Currently rocking a early 2000s Cannondale f400 and looking into driving some trails here Oahu Hawaii. id love to spend 1000 but setting a absolute max of 1500. Need a good well rounded general use bike. Somewhere between XX and trail. Nothing to wild just exploring some of this beautiful island. I have tested out a few bikes, new rockhopper 29”. Fuse 27.5, Trek roscoe 6-8. I really want a air fork 27.5+ Hardtail. The roadie 8 just out of budget. And have come across the framed Marquette nx with upgraded wheels and tires even after shipping is shipping it’s 300 ish less then the trek roscoe 8, and seems nicer equipped. I’d have plenty enough to add a dropper and other bits of kit. Very tempted to order the Marquette and would have jf it wasn’t 89 to ship it here to island. Help a new aspiring trail rider out and spend my money! Am I missing brands? 5’10” 185 34 Thanks

Check out the Marin Pine Mountain and a Specialized Fuse 6Fattie. Consider a used bike too-- Over 22 years of riding I've only bought two bikes new, getting something 1 or 2 years old can be a much better value. For example: https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/2542999/

The Salsa Timberjack is also an option, and any bike shop with a QBP account (almost all of them) can order them in for you. https://salsacycles.com/bikes/timberjack/2019_timberjack_deore_27.5

Thanks for the reply’s, looked into the norco they wanted 250 to ship to me! Checked into the Marin and specialized as well, in the end I happened onto I think a great Dea on a roscoe 8 that was ridden twice, converted to tubeless, and has dynasty pedals for 100 in the size I wanted. Like new bike the only gripe I have is the rear spacing that I don’t fee will be a issue with me.
Thanks for a great forum and the advice!
