Speedgoat's built 2 29ers for me; a One9 and a Mach429. That was before "the move". I read the posts and comments after their move to Chicago and was nervous about ordering from them again. However, long story short, my parents ordered somethings for me for Christmas, and needed to return some things that they bought months after they ordered. Speedgoat took the things back (even the discontinued stuff) and gave me the full refund for the stuff.
They've always taken very good care of me.

Speedgoat is fine, I have not had a problem with orders or returns. You have to check their sales weekly because they are always changing, which is a good thing because they have some good deals! The only thing that I have noticed is that they have a slightly longer turn-around in processing orders. If you pick something like 2 day shipping, expect it to still take 3-4 days where as some do same day (before 3pm). Otherwise, I can't fault them, and if you aren't in a super big rush, they a seller that is worth checking before some of the others.

They are doing the "Closeout" deal with Paul Love levers right now. The "Sale Ends.." date keeps getting moved back every time I look. It is usually the next day of when I am looking. It seems shady to me. More shady is there description of the lever. It says silver/black, and does not give a description of whether it is the 2.5 finger or compact model. Well, I want the Black Compact, but there is no way of specifying this on your order. The whole thing seems shady. So I called their customer service, and the guy couldn't tell me whether it was the silver or black, compact or 2.5 finger. What are these guys up to? After reading the other threads about their business practices, and not being able to get basic product information from them on the phone, I think I'll stray away from their "Specials/Closeout" deals.

On the other hand, they do offer great prices.

Hmmmmmm...........this has become very interesting. Their price on a Jet 9 built up with X-7 stuff is $2399. I can't find anyone who will even come close to this price. Tree Fort Bikes will match the frame price but I haven't called them to see if they can sell me a built up Jet for a similar price.

Awesome store. I live in the DC area, a few hours away from their main shop, and order 90% of all my parts through them. They build wheels very well and have top-notch customer service. Call them anytime of the day if you're having an issue with something and they'll help you out. Best of all, there's no "dude" factor like you get from some mail order stores (ahem, Beyond Bikes). The talk like real people.

In reading some of the provided links, it appears Speedgoat was sold and is now based in Chicago and there is no actual location in PA anymore.

I used SG quite a bit around 10 years ago but have long since transitioned to other e-tailers and LBSs. I personally never had a bad experience with them, but will not be going back there either.
