I have a chance to pick up a 1998 Yeti FRO Alloy frame,and need to know some specs.:
What is the seat post size?
What travel fork could I get away with without screwing up the geometry too much?

seatpost is 26.8. i was running a judy xc stock on mine, then put Englund cartridges in. Ran travel close to 90mm, and it actually felt better to me.

I saw your FRO on the Yeti pics thread...nice looking bike! The frame I'm looking at is identical to yours,Troy Lee graphics,colour and all,except mine still has the original rigid fork. Is yours 1" or 1 1/8" headtube. I was thinking of using a Reba I have- 80mm travel..John

I bought mine as a frame after crinkling my homegrown's toptube. Headset is 1 1/8" My 98 catalog shows a 63MM judy as stock,so i think your 80mm reba should be ok. dan

Cool..thanks,Dan...I'm doing a trade with someone and I haven't had much chance to learn much about the frame, other than thru pictures.It looks like its in great shape. I like that I have a chance to own something classic...Something that I've always wanted...
