The build charges are normal. They don't pay for the bike to be put back together; they are just supplying a new one.
Bike manufacturers almost never cover shipping and labor under warranty, and most shops don't either. $120 is pretty reasonable for a strip down and build up. We charge $125 if it is not a warranty or not purchased from us. One of our major selling points at The Path is that we do cover shipping and labor on warranty issues as a service to our customers, but it seems that is not the norm.blackrider said:I've got a specialized bike, and the frame cracked so I'm enacting the warranty. Do I have to pay for the bike to be put back together, or should specialized. My bike shop is telling me that it will be 120 bucks to reasemble the bike when the new frame gets here. Is this wierd, or am I just new at destroying frames? I'm just making sure I'm not being lured into an unnecessary financial bog.
