Hi All,
So I'm in the market for a 29er stumpjumper, having ridden a camber for a few years. My dilemma is; I could buy a nice shiny new 2014 stumpy comp for approx $2.8K, OR I could buy a well-maintained second hand 2013 stumpy comp carbon for $2K. I really can't decide. The comp carbon is a better bike and is R8K cheaper, but it's used, I wont have any warranty or any LBS service as it's being sold by a bike hire company. I know them and they look after their bikes though.
Anyone got any suggestions or experience with either bike?
Thanks

PS: note the prices are not exactly what you'd find in-store as I just divided south african Rands by 10 to convert to dollars. Close enough!

Warranty's are nice to have esp. with carbon frames. Buy the new Alloy STJ Comp and after awhile get some carbon wheels.
^ what he said this is what I did^
Look for last years close outs.

Thanks chaps, yeah I'm tempted by the new bike. I'd be pretty stranded if something went wrong with the carbon comp. But in the back of my mind i'm thinking "The carbon comp is a better bike for less money!" Anyway, will give it a bit more time.
