Currently sporting some roll-x tires on my 04 stump fsr comp. Almost time for new tires and I was looking at the resolution tires that come on the current stumpies. Any good? I ride in new england (think tight twisty singletrack, plenty of rock gardens and roots). I like the roll-x's but wouldn't mind trying somethinge else. Can go tubeless as well for I have mavic crosslands currently.

There's lots and lots of posts on the "Resolution" (formerly the "Adrenaline" -- same tire, new name) v. the Roll-X, both here and in the Wheel/Tire forum.

Both are great tires.

The Resolution is massive for it's claimed size; the "2.0" is probably closer to a 2.2 (the Roll-X "2.0" is close to a 2.1). It's super super tall, too -- which makes for great shock absorbtion.

Both tires corner very well, but the Resolution is probably even more confidence-inspiring; and the Roll-X is noticeable quicker-rolling. I prefer the Roll-X on my Stumpy FSR (don't need the cushioning, and the speed is nice) and the Resolution on my hard-tail singlespeed (it takes the edge of quite nicely). I'm going to try the Kenda Nevegal next, on my singlespeed -- but I'll probably keep buying Roll-X for the Stumpy.

love those "vintage" Roll x's

from your 04 vintage. I bought a few sets of them, then. Super fast rolling, love to be converted to Stans, and are very light weight.

Many curret stock of xc tires approach 500-600 grams. My 450 gr Roll X's are the bomb. Don't know what I'm gonna replace them with at seasons end.

Roll X. I love them. I use S-Works Fast Trac now. Much faster tire than the roll X but the corner is not as good. Plus, Fast Trac does not like loose gravel at all. Sand is ok, not great, but loose gravel no. Roll X did great in both.

I know nothing of the Resolution. I'm a racer so I need something that has a faster roll speed and light weight.

Another thing, Roll X last longer. My Fast Trac were put on in March and I question the treads all ready. I had a massive washout last Saturday in a race that really bashed up my leg. Look at the treads, they do look weak.

I will probable use Roll X for training, then switch to Fast Trac for racing. That way I'm not buying new tires every 3 months.
