Special event at Skeggs/ECdM - Sat 6/27

There is a special event at El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space/Skeggs on Saturday, June 27. Could mean increased parking at Skeggs Point, lots of hikers in the area of the event, along with increased attendance by rangers/staff. May be worth considering adjusting riding plans to a different part of the preserve, or to a different preserve, on this day.

"The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District is hosting a plaque dedication event in commemoration of the victims of the October 29, 1953 crash of the Australian passenger plane "Resolution," on Saturday, June 27, 2009.

The details of the event are as follows:
Date: Saturday, June 27, 2009
Time: 12:00 noon - 1:30 p.m.
Location: Fir Trail and Vista Point Trail Junction
El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space Preserve
Parking: Caltrans Skeggs Point parking area (see directions below)

Directions:
Event attendees may park at the Caltrans Skeggs Point parking area on the east side of Highway 35... {snip} ...District staff will be on‐site to assist you with the event parking and the parking area will be marked.

Event Location Logistics:
There will be a hike or shuttle option to the event site. The event dedication site is located near the junction of the Fir Trail and the Vista Point in El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space Preserve.

Hike to Event Site:
Participants have the option of hiking on their own, 1‐mile (one way), along the Fir Trail beginning from gate # CM01 to the event site. If you hike to the dedication event site, please arrive 45 minutes early (approximately 11:15 a.m.)... {snip}"
