Steve (Big Boulder) and Jim (Jilm), this was the view we had of them most of the day... when we saw them at all. I've fattened up and slowed down this last month.

One of the sweetest trails I never rode.

These riders have been digitally added to this photograph after the fact because we weren't here.

Patrick on the bottom of the very steep, very skinny, brake eating Missouri Bar downhill. Right after the trailside mushroom roast (Cooked with my brake rotors).

The Heli-Cam (TM) returns for some exciting overhead action. Awesome day, stunning views, great riders, incredible trail, only thing missing was EWE. Fun had by all.

I thought about you guy's pretty much all day, whilst studying. I'm in next time.

When is the next time?
You better have been studying.

Looks like a great ride, guys! Glad I didn't go- I would have just moaned and snivelled about waiting for everyone. ;)

Dennis, thanks for the pics. Glad you didn't go to Hogan, that would have sucked compared to the mighty Yuba, Yuba.

fp

(For Jilm)

Living through another Yuba
it's 1961 again and we are piggy in the middle
while war is polishing his drum and peace plays second fiddle

Russia and America are at each other's throats
but don't you cry
just on your knees and pray, and while you're
down there, kiss your arse goodbye

We're the bulldog on the fence
while others play their tennis overhead
it's hardly love all and somebody might
wind up red or dead
pour some oil on the water quick
it doesn't really matter where from
he love me, he loves me not
he's pulling fins from an atom bomb

This phenomenon happens every 20 years or so
if they're not careful your watch won't be the
only thing with a radioactive glow
I'll stick my fingers in my ears
and hope they make it up before too late
if we get through this lot alright
they're due for replay, 1998

I had no idea these were the lyrics!

South Yuba Dooba Doo!

What a great day! Trail conditions were great. A little soft near the shoulders and carpets of leaves to keep braking honest otherwise, very tacky. The weather obliged us by not being too cold or rainy. Other than Patrick having a little chain issue, no major mechanicals or crashes. The ride company wasn't bad either other than Joseph the Trog's constant screaming of "Get out of my way or I'll ride you down, bite your head off and drink your blood!". That and Ogre's constant chanting "There's carnage in them there hills, I can smell it". Fortunately, Finch wasn't with us or we would have smelled it too.

Yuba! Yuba!

(I love this ride) a quote a form BB. You know what I second that motion. This time around this ride was much faster and way more fun for me. I was feeling really good and the weather was just right for a cool late fall ride yesterday. I am begging to really like this very sweet loop of just enough climbing and of course lots of single track. A six pack of buds for a 6 pack of Buds. Another fine day on the trails.

Lot of pix below :)

Last shot is a a huge Human brain upside down in the river. Wow! King Kong did live.

Bridge

But didn't it get one cupped? I like the new 0grehut design :)
How narrow was that bridge? Doesn't look like something I'd walk, much less ride.
Bridge was plenty wide but it looked slick and I wimped out on it before even getting to the drop at the end.

Well the new design is just on the front page for now, I'm hoping to get the whole site converted to that look but I've been feeling lazy so I haven't gotten to it yet.

...BB's pics suck.
Well the huge zoom in of my as$ in this picture is a little scary. In fact it seemed he was sneaking up behind me with that camera all day long. I'm starting to wonder if he is covering up latent desires with bravado. Scary stuff alright. I do like that I rode this section and both Jilm and BB walked it.
