Last Saturday, Nomadrdr, Scully Bones, Colorado Paul, Joemtbrcolorado and I made a run for the El Paso County border and hit up the Pueblo trails. Despite a few group SNAFU issues, a good time was had by all!

Joe on the rocks.

Me in a blur (photo credit to Jared I think).

Scully Bones on the line to nowhere.

Pueblo Rocks!!! :D

Nomadrdr on Rock Canyon.

Skully Bones on the same drop.

Shawn loves Hooters!

Everyone loves Hooters canyon!!!

Yea ...do you have the balls......what are ya riding a Niner?
I just like the fact that there isn't a flake of snow to be seen in any of these pics!
I can't decide if that looks fantastic or painful.... I'm going with fantastic, especially since, at this point, I would ride about anything not covered in snow.

Yes, I have a Niner. No, I do not have the balls! :cryin:
The first section of Hooters (in the pictures) is wicked steep, and very scary (that's the fun). It was named for an Owl that lives in there. So Hooters does take large Huevos, and I like doing it on my 29er! In fact 29er wheels sort of rule on the big ledge's, both up and down. I rarely bring my 26er down anymore.

nice video- I like the looks of Hooters. :) Just wrapped up playing with my fork and replaced a pad (brake pad) so I can drive 3hrs to ride Pueblo tomorrow. Beats driving to BFE Arizona.
Nice video Brian!!! I knew about the "new" stuff further down, but you rode in the valley further than I knew about. I have done that one up-and-down line that you rode around once, and once was enough :D .

So how come you don't ride stuff like that in Monument???
Too funny all of the confusion and drama tha the x-post in Passion is causing - http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=581572 . I guess they just don't get the Front Range humor?

Oh by the way guys, looks like a rockin' good time! Never been down there (yet).
Great vid PJ! That camera angle along with HD really brings the trail to life. Totally felt like I was riding there for a bit but in my version I went over the bars once and walked the rest.

47 deg on Friday and 49 on Saturday. No snow no snow.

Yeah, the pathetic attempt at humor (the south of the border bit) made a lot more sense on this forum than on Passion, but I still kept the theme. It's funny how riled up people get at the littlest things...

You'll have to come down and ride there with us sometime. The XC trails have a very "Fruita" feel to them, and the rocky stuff in the canyon is a blast. It's nice to have a place with great XC and great technical where you can scratch both itches in the same day.
Nice pics Kristian and great video Pastajet. I enjoyed the video quality so much I went in search of additional footage - very nice job.
Hey Gram

When was that video taken, just asking as I was down there yesterday and there is still quite a bit of snow in the Canyons. Hooters was mostly dry but freeride off the rock roller dropped into fresh powder, your gonna have moisture on your tires for most of the down hill sections until things warm up.
At this point the park is 95% dry and what is left is less than 1/2inch in the shaded areas.

This weekend will be fun, although riding fresh pow in the preserve is still lots of fun as well.
Wow what a cool video Pastajet! Heading down tomorrow also with a couple of Niner Rip 9's can't wait. Should be on trail by 930 if anybody else is going.
Rode there today it was great!....

I

I will load some pics and videos in a bit, but there was still a bit of snow in the canyons, especially on the rocks. I brought my whisk broom and cleared off most of the snow (plus some dirt) on the rocks that we ride. It was still slippery in spots since your tires had snow on them from other areas. The sun poked out for a bit down there, but it was sort of cool and dreary most of the day.

I rode the Preserve on Monday and it was really nice, sunny and sort of warm. Most of the lower trails were sort of nice since they have had a lot of bike traffic. Stoopid trail was entertaining, and I got some untracked snow most of the way. The trees kept it from much accumulation, but the rock ramp was covered!

It just adds to the challenge. I went a bit too fast down the rock roller > wood bridge on freeride, then slid out on the flat rock at the end of the bridge (with snow on it). Tons of fun...

SoCol Trail Builders, Good job on the trails. You guys moved a LOT of rocks.
