Does anyone know if they lock the gates or give you a hard time for being on the trail after sunset? We are doing a ladies ride out there at 5:30 tonight if anyone is interested......
if you are referring to the McDs, it is trespassing to be in there after dark. Some have been ticketed by the Scottsdale PD.

I'm talking about the new trail North of Jomax off I 17. Maybe it's just called Sonora Trail. I have been chased out by the Sheriff riding Spur Cross / Cave Creek at night. I usually ride Deems, but wanted to try the new trail..........

I don't think there is any issue with being on the trail at night. The trail has 4 entrances (that I know of) and only one of them is "gated". I've been riding it for over a year at night without any issues. I have never seen anyone even on the trail at night. HOWEVER, the entrance that orginates from the parking lot, behind the community center does close at night. They have a gate that keeps vehicles out, and those in ground wrong direction "claws". Its right next to a small set of apartments. You'll see it. I don't know what time it closes, but you don't want your car in there after hours. No problem riding out on a bike though.

Thanks guys. We had no problems, they did lock the gate but we parked by the houses and rode in. It was a great training trail for sure. Lots of climbing and the backside was fun. Nothing techy though. We did a couple laps:thumbsup:

I tried to ride here last Thursday night for the first time and found the closed gate near the community center. I have been told its okay to park there, but I didn't want to be that guy in these peoples community so I went to Deems instead. I would be interested in locations of the other entrances and maybe if they are within a mile or two of a place to park at least friendly. Guess I could park at the retail area on Happy Valley and pedal in?
