Somewhere in Sant Cruz, CA - A RR!

I have been in the NorCal area this past week and will be here through next too.
I am here for work and knew I would have some free time durning the weekend for a ride.
So I contacted Photo-John to see if we could ride at that time. He said he would be available.
I brought all my stuff minus my bike with me.
After a few emails and phone calls we had decided on a place and John was able to acquire a bike for me. Francis' Turner 5 Spot!
I drove down to John's from Dublin, where I am at. Then off to the trail head in Santa Cruz!
John was able to find another MTBR regular to join us elsaltamontes(Ray). Francis brought a friend along too, Derek.
It was a very memorable ride for me, riding through the redwoods, riding a sexy bike, riding with Francis, John and Ray.I even did a few of the stunts that are bulit along the trail, the best one, which I didn't make by the way was the Teeter. I have never done a teeter before, and even though this one was barely a foot off the ground they are hard! I started out OK, but wasn't too centered on it. I made it to the center which was it for me, I bailed some how, I don't quite remember the whole thing.
It was a great ride, one I will not be forgetting anytime soon!

What? No pics? And you call yourself a mtbing photog?! ;)

Seriously, sounds like a good time was had by all. Mighty nice of Francis to loan you his 5 Spot.
Well...

I am here for work and couldn't justify bring my camera as it is I have three bags with me, plus a carry on.
Yes, Francis ROCKS!

Three bags, plus a carry on - I can see why you didn't want to lug anything else!
Good to meet you Brian!

Brian is awesome!!! He handled our local treasures no problem and he tried every stunt in sight. He even did the whole ride on pedals that were 80% frozen from fruita death march

Next time you're out here, we'll make you ride a singlespeed!!

Evidence

Here's some proof that Brian was actually in Santa Cruz. Sorry there aren't more and better photos. I've been using a little Samsung p&s tester on the trail and I'm not so happy with it. Plus, I've been riding more than shooting. So the photos weren't taken on the good stuff.

Incidentally, that teeter-totter was a lot more than a foot off the ground. You're at least three feet in the air before it starts to drop. And you have to give the brakes a little tap to slow you down. It's a little disconcerting the first time. And every time after

In retrospect, I guess it was more like three feet off the dirt, it just looked like a foot high.
It sure was fun! I can't wait to try a teeter-totter again!
