I live NW of San Antonio where the drought never ends. This year I would like to travel some place that has green grass, trees, and more green trees. Where is Texas would I be able to go that has good single track trails that are intermediate level? I thought about Davy Crockett National Forest but is there any other place? Also, a place that would provide enough trail for an entire weekend.

Come up to Dallas area. Big Cedar is the best in the area, in my opinion. There's plenty of climbing there, too. Boulder Park is another good one, and Oak Cliff Nature Preserve isn't too far from that. Cedar Hill State park is right there too. All this is within minutes from each other. Might not be too green in the summer though...haha.

Ever ridden Tyler State Park? Thats a different scenery from here.

+ 1 for Tyler. Super nice trail with good flow in spots. Also good in the summer as it is mostly under tree canopy.
Fortunately for those of us in the DFW area, we have a good number of singletrack places to escape the sun and ride under canopy for a good percentage of our rides if so desired.
