Just seen this posted on pinkbike, makes me sick...
During a Critical Mass ride, a driver suddenly accelerated through a crowd of cyclists, injuring 20 of them
Hopefully they get the prick who did it, if you read the article, a witness who was talking to the driver just before it happened said "he was in a hurry"
Thankfully all the people who were injured were out of hospital quickly

Now while these CM rides may not be the best way to promote cycling, it in NO way should entitle some idiot to accelerate through a group of cyclists, possibly injuring or even killing them

not necessarily. back in the 90s, i remember some of the critical mass rides in SF got out of control (both ones that followed the city specified route, and other that didn't).

i also remember reading about an ER doctor in so cal, who ran over two road cyclists in his SUV. luckily, he was apprehended and is now in jail.

Yeah, that happened pretty close to the trails I normally ride on. That road has a history of incidents with cyclists, and basically this guy pulled in front of a couple riders after exchanging some words with them and slammed on his brakes. One of them went through his back windshield.

Nothing gives a motorist the right to run over dozens of people out for a casual ride.

That being said, out of the 4 bikes that I own, none of them are road bikes.

Jokes aside...this is wrong! I hope that guy crashes! This happened not to long ago in a road ride in mexico...But he did kill I think 2 riders...The driver was drunk...plowed to say the least...But he did stop..and "apologized"...

Hope the guy gets a karma visit soon...
