Reposting w/ lower price. Guessing at value...make offer if interested.
For sale: 2015 Cannondale Scalpel 29 Carbon 2. Size Large. Good condition. $2250.
Includes several upgrades:
-Thomson dropper post (nearly new – one ride on it; the old one started creaking so I traded it in w/ Thomson; internal cable routing; +$450 new).
-Magura MT8s (which are SWEET). A shop kid stripped out the threads on the lever of the stock MT4s so I got a discount and upgraded to MT8 levers and calipers, and put new Magura Storm rotors on. They have very light use since then (more on that below; +$460 new).
-Renthal Fatbar Lite carbon riser bar (I’d consider swapping in the stock flat bar but it’s on my fixed gear bike and works well there so I’d rather not; +$140 new).
Low mileage. I bought this bike new from the Cannondale shop in Natick in 2015. It was my main MTB for 3 seasons but I had young kids and didn’t get out regularly. I got my 27.5+ hardtail in 2018 and that’s been my main ride since. My Strava goes back to Sept 2018 and I’ve got 33 rides for about 335 miles on this bike in that period.
Selling because I don’t ride it enough – these days I’m either on my gravel bike, road bike, or 27.5+ hardtail. Also my wife just got a new bike and we need to free up some space in the garage!
Other notes:
-Fully refurbed fork in 2020 by Cannondale...which happened to keep me off the bike for most of 2020 b/c the pandemic slowed down their service dramatically. I’ve ridden the bike only a handful of times since then (took me a while to get around to putting in the new dropper when it came this spring...).
-2.1” front tire (slightly wider than stock)
-New-ish Ergon grips.
-Ergon seat and pedals not included. I will swap in the stock seat instead.
-Stock carbon post available too.
Some cosmetic frame chips, see pictures. Usual scrapes to crankarms, skewers, etc. Can share more pics if interested. The bridge that braces the front of the seatstay developed a crack and was replaced under warranty by Cannondale, which is why it’s black not blue.
Regular service by Cannondale Natick/Papa Wheelies team.
I prefer local pick-up in Metrowest Boston (near 90/95 intersection). There’s a place to meet for online transaction exchanges at our local police station that I’ve used several times before. Open to other meetings spots. Would consider packing it up for shipment, buyer to cover box and shipment costs.
Rest of spec is stock: Stan’s ZTR Arch EX 29 wheels, tubeless. SRAM X01 11 speed shifters and derailleur. Rock Shox Monarch rear shock. Single pushbutton lockout for front and rear.

Bicycle Blue Book value:
BicycleBlueBook $2153 – 2217. Asking higher than that b/c of upgrades that aren’t considered in that estimate. List price: $5500 + $1050 for brakes, bar and dropper post = $6550
