Socom with HS

Hi, my Socom bike has ISCG 05' tabs and I've been thinking about putting a Hammerschmidt on it to make to the top more easily. Someone has tried this before? How does it pedal? Will it work?

Thank You.

My friend has done this, and works fine. Adds something like a half to full pound over a similar setup. Not to mention the costs.

You do realize you can put a front derailleur on Socom as well, right? (do a search). It won't transform Socom into a trail bike, if that is what you are looking for.
My Socom is a trail bike with a 66 ETA and front derailer weighing in at 36.9 lbs.

Well, at first I thought of gettining a new Uzzi VP, but since I have an M6 and after seeing Kntr's bike at the forum I am willing to transform my Socom in to a big Uzzi but I can´t decide: front derailleur or HS.
