The Mach 4 got some love this year. Lighter and stiffer. The Mach 5 is now replaced by the 5.7. The Mach 429 received some enhancements. The Phoenix is an instant hit ( and I want one real bad).
BUT what about the Firebird? Will it get a little refresh this year? More travel? Anything?

OR will pivot start to explore the realm of full Carbon.

Let the speculation begin.

For the FB an adjustable chain stay adjustment feature might be cool (ala Pheonix)... or an easier way to adjust the HTA (other than an angle set)...

but orange ano would be really cool (but i'm probably the only one who'd want that )... or color combo choices of front and rear triangle...:thumbsup:

Since the Pivot people actually read this:

For the love of god, don't redo the the 429 and call it the 429.7 (or something horrible like that). Update the bike, make it lighter, and leave the name alone!

I'd probably buy one either way...

Pivot 529 (I assume it would be fun... I've never ridden a 29'er except for cyclocross bikes) with 140mm travel.

New Firebird rear triangle with removeable dropouts so I can run 150 through all the way down to QR out back just by swapping the drops.

Pivot needs to come out with a hardtail Ti bike that can take a 140mm fork like the Van Nicholas Mamtor. and I want the mach 5.7 to come in yellow.

Yeah, BH or HB bike something. I think they are a real cool old school company from Spain or ??? The cyclocross bike in carbon looks pretty amazing. Can't wait till all the bikes start to come out with disc mounts since they finally made it legal!

OK, I just noticed that another company is making a 29'er 7" travel DH bike. I think Pivot with their DW link could do it waaaaaay better than the company using the "Already Been Patented" technology. That is an awesome idea and I want one.

weird... but good that it stiffer yet dampens better... what about durability? what about rocks? i am always tossing rocks into my down tube... has carbon technology overcome all that yet?

Yep to durability and lots of stiffness. Have you seen the video of Peat hitting a corner at full speed at the paved DH race?

Damps better? How can you even feel that with a 6.5" travel fork and rear?
