... it really doesn't matter what you are getting for yourself or from a loved one, as many children across the world will go without anything on the morning of Dec. 25. All I ask from some of you is that you take an old bike, a basketball, soccer ball, football, anything that can bring a smile to a kids face to a church or donation center. These recent times have been tough for us but we have it so much better than many kids have ever dreamed. Please do anything you can to help, even if it is a yo-yo from a dollar store, every bit helps.

thanks for the post...these are indeed hard times ,and while i know i've seen better days.im still making ends meet (barely). but you are correct we can all give just even a dollar to the bell ringers out in the cold is a help. we do donate clothes to salvation army and also buy stuff from there too. thanks again i'll try to do more.

i had some doubt about posting my message. I am not religious man nor am i particularly charitable during the rest of the year, but to see the smile on a kids face is magical. i do not want anyone to donate anything because it will "make them feel good". that is not what it is about. this is 1000% about the kids. for those who understand, lead by example. to everyone who has posted, thank you for doing what you did but please keep the "i donated XXX amount of things" down. i honor your charitable efforts, but lets not deter those who can give only a little.

Merry Christmas,
C
