it's running a bit rough. I can hear the bearings rolling. Could it be that it is tightened down too much or not enough grease? Help. By the way I used one of those head locks instead of a star nut, that thing is great!

Could be it's tightened a tad too much , or needs more grease, or perhaps both (???) ...I would think if you overtightened it, you'd feel "resistence" a little at the bars when turning them with the wheel off the ground.....try tearing it down, stuffing some more grease in there, and only tighten it 'til the bearing play is removed and no more....hopefully that'll cure your ills ...good luck !!!
