On the Front Range it's been pretty typical, no monster snow dumps yet, at least in the lower elevations. I was just reading the morning paper and it seems as if the mid-west and east coast are getting hammered. Again and again. How's the weather in your neighborhood?

For mountain biking it sucks

But for skiing it rocks. Over two feet of snow in the Hood River, Oregon area. I won't be biking for a long time! I usually hang the bike up for around 6 weeks to 2 months every winter.

Not good riding weather, but it is great for snow sports!

A total of 6.8 inches of snow fell in Coeur d'Alene on Monday, beating the old mark for Dec. 22 of six inches set in 1964.

That brought snowfall for the month to 50.3, which makes this December the second snowiest ever, and closing fast on the record of 63.6 inches set in 1915.

We got about 7 inches on Friday and then about 3 inches Saturday which is a lot for Northern NJ - today is my last day at work until the 5th and I am hoping to ride every day (except Christmas day) temps are in the teens / low 20s currently but it's suopposed to warm up. My biggest concern is how rideable the trails are. I would rather them frozen otherwise it's a mud fest.

Decent Riding Weather

It has been raining during the day on and off for the past week here, but letting up at night, and clearing up here and there for a few hours during the day. I've been able to sneak in a few rides to a local spot a few miles from my house, as long as the rain isn't dumping the trail dries up pretty quick. I had just gotten back from a ride yesterday and loaded the car when it started dumping rain. Talk about timing.

Teen temps and more snow in the forecast. It is Alaska after all! Not as lucky here on the mainland as tscheezy is on his island, he's living with what appears to be ultimate conditions right now; no snow and mild temps. Check out some of his latest pics on the Ak forum.

Here's my impression of Heismann does Fatbike.

Beautiful, sunny, warm breezes. Rode single track on Sunday for 3 hours, splashed around in the Pacific ocean yesterday as the sun set in the West.

Rode into work yesterday and today.............

Aloha and stay safe out there...........
