Yesterday we strapped on the snowshoes instead of going for our usual Wednesday night ride and we had a blast! The temp hovered right around 0, but the winds were pretty calm. I'm not sure how much snow there was on average, but there were drifts well over 2 feet deep in places. This was my first real snowshoe trip and I can't believe how much fun it was!

Here's the first slog after the parking lot.

Me on a nice and steep bit of trail. (photo credit to JOEMTBRCOLORADO).

Joe (I think--why was everyone wearing black?!?) climbing up the trail.

Me again--I was digging how easy it was to go up steep climbs that leave me hike-a-biking in the summer!

Although I'm sure you guys had fun wandering around in the dark with your snowshoes on, they do serve a better purpose to some:

At least it's better than sitting around whining about the snow, daydreaming about riding your bike.
