This is my first time racing Snowmass, and I keep hearing about this famous/infamous section of the course. What's the story? Amazing/scary/rocky/fast/slow/brutal....all of the above?

up, down, rocky, some roots and stream crossings. Infamous? Nah. Sweet trail? Definitely. It can be hard when you are tired, but most groups only get one pass. There is one section after a stream crossing where you may have to get off and run. All this leads to Anerobic Nightmare which is a super fast winding descent. Fun stuff.

The infamy comes not from the small stretch in the MSC race at the ski area, but the nice, long, ride (20+/- miles) to Aspen on the whole trail.

I was wondering what the hubbub was about. I didn't realize the trail was a nice epic ride. Maybe something for Sunday?

Yep. Either that or the Rim Trail. It's Fruitaesque and opposite the resort.
