Hi,
I've been using the Schwalbe Snow Studs for 2 winters (daily commuting on my singlespeed converted Trek 7000 ) in nordic Québec City conditions.
They are 1.90, so should be okay.
These are good on relatively hard surfaces (packed snow, ice, ...).
Schwalbe Ice Spiker would be more suited for off-road (higher profile), but are 2.10...
Check also Nokian: they are to be considered the ice/snow tire specialists.
